The bed features a superb platform design that eliminates the need for a box spring (though it can be made in that style). It includes ten wide slats that interlock securely with hardwood dowels on the side rails, reinforced by heavy-duty cast hangers. For king and California king sizes, a center-reinforced support attaches to the head and foot boards, providing full under-bed access without a center leg. Clean, traditional Shaker lines with tapered corner posts, chamfered edges, cove moldings, and a classic shaker knob on accessory pieces define its timeless aesthetic.
